Perspective Drawing

Learn about perspective using overlapping, size, placement, linear perspective, and aerial perspective. Your instructor is Dwana Meisehelder. Sketchbook and sharpened pencils needed. Tuesdays, November 4-December 9, 1:30-2:30 p.m. $16 for members and $21 for nonmembers.

Watercolor & Colored Pencil

Learn the basics of using watercolor and colored pencil! A basic watercolor set and colored pencils or watercolor colored pencils, and basic painting supplies needed. Basic drawing knowledge required. Your instructor is Dwana Meisenhelder. Tuesdays, November 4-December 9, 3-4:30 p.m. $18 for members and $23 for nonmembers.

The Olde Pipes Consort—A Recorder Group

Enjoy playing the recorder? Consider the Olde Pipes Consort. Instructor is Hillyer Rudisill. Mondays at 3 p.m. Free for members. Members only.

Beginning Recorder

Beginner Recorder class is led by Jean Breza and is for anyone curious about recorder. No background in music required. If you do not have a recorder you will be loaned one. Mondays, 1:15-1:45 p.m. No class December 22 and 29. Free for members and $2 per class for nonmembers.

Advanced Beginner Recorder

Advanced Beginner recorder class is for those who have some knowledge in recorder playing (can play notes G, A, B, C, D, and F#).  Led by Jean Breza. Mondays, 2-2:30 p.m. No class December 22 and 29. Free for members and $2 per class for nonmembers.

Memoirs Class: My Hometown

Where we have come from greatly influences who we have become as adults. Examine the physical and geographical layout of your hometown, the people there who influenced you, and what it would be like to return there today. Writers of all levels are welcome. Wednesdays, November 19-December 17, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. No class on November 26. $22 for members and $25 for nonmembers.

Crafters Corner

Craft together with friends at the center! This is a great opportunity to chat with friends and get to know others who enjoy similar hobbies to you in needlepoint, sewing, quilting, cross-stitch, etc. Tuesday, November 18 and December 16, 2-4 p.m. Free for members, members only.

The Act Out Club

The Act Out Club is the Lowcountry Senior Center’s theater troupe that is led under the direction of actor Nick Smith member of the Actors’ Theatre of SC. This group meets twice a month, Mondays, November 10 and 24 and December 8 and 22, 12:30-2 p.m. Fee is $10 per month for members and $15 for nonmembers. Join in the theatrical fun!

The Poetry Hour

The Poetry Hour is a venue for all who enjoy hearing and discussing poetry. The Poetry Society of South Carolina facilitates this group for the center. November will feature poet, Harriet Rigney on "What if We Took Figures of Speech Literally." December will feature poet, Susan Myers, on "Poems: The Path of Surprise." Free for members and $2 per session for nonmembers. Wednesdays, November 5 and December 3,  1-2 p.m.

The Writing Circle

A fun monthly group that supports writing for all levels. Participants are encouraged to bring in excerpts from their own writing for positive critique from the group. Led by author, Kathleen Fox. Wednesdays, November 12 and December 10, 2-4 p.m. Free for members and $5 per session for nonmembers.

Actionworks

Using the action methods of psychodrama and sociodrama, explore topics of interest to you. The three basic parts of each session are warm-up, action, and sharing. Actionworks is an invitation to discovery, an opportunity to encounter others in moments of creativity and spontaneity. Facilitated by Lyn Breck a seasoned counselor and specialist in psychodrama. Wednesdays, November 19 and December 10, 12:30-2 p.m. Free for members and $5 per session for nonmembers.

Bracelet Making Class

Learn to make your own beautiful bracelet during this fun jewelry making class. Taught by Michelle Rose. All materials provided. Thursday, November 13, 10-12:00 p.m. $17 for members and $20 for nonmembers.
