Roper Rehabilitation Hospital is a leading provider of comprehensive inpatient
rehabilitative care in the southeast. Accredited by JCAHO (Joint Commission on
Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations) and CARF (Commission on Accreditation
of Rehabilitation Facilities), we are proud to "help people help themselves" and
be as functionally independent as possible. In 2007 Roper Rehabilitation
Hospital earned the PRC Top Performer Award for patients rating overall quality
as excellent.
Located at 316 Calhoun Street in downtown Charleston, SC, Roper Rehabilitation
Hospital is a 39-bed "hospital within a hospital" dedicated solely to
rehabilitation and functional recovery. There are two handicap accessible
entrances to Roper Hospital. These are located at the main entrance on Calhoun
St. and the Emergency Room entrance off Jonathon Lucas St. Our inpatient
hospital consists of 32 beds on the 8th floor accessed from the "E" elevators,
and 7 beds on the 3rd floor accessed from the "A" elevators.
Our Mission
To provide, promote and support the delivery of comprehensive physical rehabilitation services to enhance the lives of those individuals who have altered functional ability as a result of neurological, musculoskeletal impairment, and/or decreased cardiopulmonary reserve.
