Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS)
This is a specialized catheter with a small
transducer on the tip that allows your physician
to record ultrasound images from the inside
of the coronary artery. This can be done during
a diagnostic heart catheterization to help
your physician more accurately assess the
degree of blockage in your coronary artery.
