Body Mass Index (BMI) Calculator
A person is considered overweight if their body mass index (BMI) is equal to or greater than 25. Individuals are considered obese if their BMI is greater than 30. When BMI is 40 or more, they are considered severely obese.

Individuals who are twice their ideal weight - or more - or who are at least 100 pounds overweight also are considered severely obese. Severe obesity increases risk for high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, arthritis and sleep apnea and other dangerous weight-related health conditions. These chronic health conditions may increase the risk of premature death. Talk to your physician about your weigh reduction options as soon as possible.
