The Roper St. Francis Foundation Board of Visitors was formed in 2005 through the leadership of J. Patrick Barber and the support of 24 other individuals. The Board was established as a “family” to help lead and advise the Foundation as it moved forward into the 21st century.

Currently led by Deirdre Marion, the Board of Visitors meets twice a year with key senior Roper St. Francis Healthcare administrators who give updates on the progress of the both Roper and Bon Secours St. Francis Hospitals and the Foundation. Board members also have the opportunity to ask key administrators and high-profile physicians questions regarding healthcare issues.

The role of the Board of Visitors is two fold. First, members serve as advocates and ambassadors for Roper St. Francis Healthcare and the Roper St. Francis Foundation. Armed with information directly from key administration and physicians, Board members will be able to share their knowledge of Roper St. Francis with friends and neighbors in the community. Second, members are asked to join the Roper Xavier (Rx) Society and to recruit family and friends to join as well. Rx Society members are annual $1000 dollar-and-up donors to the Foundation and are invited to attend the Roper Xavier Society Annual Donor Appreciation Gala. Board members also have the opportunity volunteer their time for special projects associated with the Roper St. Francis Foundation.
