Excellence in nursing is one of the hallmarks that makes Roper
St. Francis Healthcare the Lowcountry’s leader in patient satisfaction. Because
well-trained, compassionate nurses are vital to the health of our patients and to
the work of our doctors and staff, Roper St. Francis is proud to offer a Nursing
Scholarship Program to support those pursuing a career in nursing, as well as those
pursuing an advanced nursing degree. The scholarship program, generously funded
by the Roper St. Francis Foundation, is open to anyone entering the profession who
has been accepted to nursing school as well as to any current Roper St. Francis
employee.

Scholarship Eligibility
Students or nurses applying for a Roper St. Francis Healthcare Nursing Scholarship
must:
- Be enrolled in an accredited nursing program.
- Have maintained a B (3.0) average in high school if entering a nursing program,
or a B (3.0) average in college.
- Have two letters of recommendation from instructors, counselors, etc. For current
employees of Roper St. Francis Healthcare, one letter must be from current supervisor/manager.
- Special consideration will be given to current Roper St. Francis employees.

Scholarship funds for tuition and fees may be awarded up to eight semesters. Those
enrolled in an accredited nursing program such as an Associates Degree Program,
Bachelors in Nursing, Masters Program, Accelerated BSN Program, LPN to RN, or BSN
to MSN are encouraged to apply. Full and partial scholarships may be awarded, depending
on the available funding and number of requests in a given calendar year.
Conditions Of Scholarship Awards
Recipients of the Scholarship funding will agree to the following conditions:
- He/she will sign a letter of intent to accept employment as a Registered Nurse at
Roper St. Francis Healthcare following successful completion of the program (and/or
NCLEX-RN).
- Upon completion, one year of full-time employment will be expected for each year
of assistance, up to a maximum of 3 years.
- Students must maintain a B average to continue scholarship funding. Students not
maintaining a B average will be expected to repay funds or retake the course at
their own expense.

Interested students must complete the scholarship
application and compile a complete application packet, including:
- Two letters of endorsement from instructors/ counselors/manager. Letters should
address the candidate?s ability, interpersonal skills, dependability, and potential
for successful completion of the program.
- A letter of recommendation from clinical manager for current employees.
- Sealed copy of current school transcript.
- Letter of acceptance to nursing school.
