Bone marrow transplant (BMT) is a curative therapy for malignant disease such as leukemias, lymphomas and multiple myeloma. BMT can provide a new immune system for patients with particularly resistant diseases. Marrow contains stem cells, the cells from which red and white blood cells and platelets develop.
The BMT Unit at Roper Hospital is an accredited Transplant Center with the National Marrow Donor Program. Based on excellent clinical outcomes Roperšs BMT program is now able to perform unrelated donor transplants for patients without a match within their family.
Our transplant team includes
board certified doctors, a transplant coordinator,
registered nurses, an oncology pharmacist,
physical therapists and clergy members.
Because seamless continuity of care improves
outcomes, the same nurses care for patients
through all phases of the transplant process.
Your transplant doctor will be available
24 hours a day to address concerns and direct
every aspect of your care.
