House Calls TV Now Available "On Demand"

Access Health Segments Through Comcast

Roper St. Francis Healthcare (RSFH) has partnered with Comcast to offer House Calls TV "On Demand," 24 hours a day starting May 2.

Area residents and Comcast digital subscribers will benefit from this opportunity to learn more about the latest medical procedures and breakthroughs from board certified, expert physicians.

"House Calls TV provides viewers with news they can use. The health topics we feature include cancer, diabetes, general surgery, heart and vascular, neurology and rehabilitation, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, and women's services," said Merritt Dempsey, House Calls TV Host.

The House Calls TV segments are 90 second informational news stories that currently air on ABC News 4, CBS News 5, Fox News and CNN Talk Radio 1450 AM. Roper St. Francis physicians highlight a different health topic within their medical specialty area each week.

"Offering House Calls TV 'On Demand' allows Comcast subscribers the option to tap into this wonderful health resource whenever is most convenient for them," said Angela Poindexter, Marketing Strategist with RSFH. "This is one more way to reach out to the community with important information designed to encourage health and wellness. By partnering with Comcast, we hope more people will be able to watch the segments, unrushed, and multiple times if they choose."

To access House Calls TV "On Demand," viewers must subscribe to Comcast's digital service.  "On Demand" is available on Channel 199. From there a viewer clicks on the

Searchlight option followed by the Health option, which will then allow them to choose from more than 50 House Calls TV episodes.

"Video 'On Demand' is free to all digital Comcast subscribers.  House Calls TV is an excellent demonstration of how Video on Demand can be used to educate and inform people about important health and medical topics.  With 'On Demand,' viewers can choose what health topics interest them most," Ron Rothberg, Interactive Sales Manager for Comcast Southern Division.
