Berkeley County is an area of tremendous population growth. It is currently the ninth largest county in South Carolina and has a projected growth rate of 7.8 % in the next five years. Even so, Berkeley is one of only five SC counties currently without a hospital. Roper St. Francis is excited to meet this need by giving residents a convenient choice for their healthcare needs now and in the future.
Roper St. Francis Healthcare is proud to announce plans for a new, full service hospital to serve healthcare needs in Berkeley County. The Roper St. Francis Hospital – Berkeley will be centrally located at Carnes Crossroads where Highway 17A and 176 intersect as part of a mixed-use planned community being developed by the Daniel Island Company. This new hospital will address a real and growing need in a vibrant community. We are proud to bring the proven, quality care that people of the Lowcountry have trusted for over 150 years closer to the thousands of Berkeley residents who already rely on Roper St. Francis Healthcare.
